Coach Erik Silva
Coach Erik Silva brings nearly two decades of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu experience to Adayama Jiu-Jitsu, having begun his journey in 2009. He earned his brown belt under the legendary Professor Fabio Santos, building a technical foundation rooted in one of the sport’s most respected lineages.
Outside the academy, Erik serves as both an Air Force and Federal Law Enforcement combatives instructor, where he has spent years teaching practical grappling, defensive tactics, and instructor development. His passion for teaching, combined with his calm and methodical approach, makes him an exceptional coach for students of all experience levels.
As the father of two Adayama youth athletes, Erik is deeply invested in the culture and community of our academy. He understands firsthand the value of creating an environment where families can learn, grow, and challenge themselves together.
Coach Erik leads our Fundamentals program, where his ability to break down techniques into clear, understandable concepts helps students build confidence from their very first class. His instruction is enriched by the perspective gained from watching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu evolve over nearly two decades, allowing him to blend timeless fundamentals with the innovations that continue to shape the modern game.
Whether you’re stepping onto the mats for the first time or refining the details of your technique, Coach Erik’s thoughtful instruction, wealth of experience, and genuine passion for helping others make him an invaluable part of the Adayama coaching team.
